As a small business, entrepreneur or solopreneur, you make decisions all the time. The main decision you make, however, is how you spend your time. A schedule can be your best friend. It can also be a daunting undertaking to even think about creating a schedule.
First things first – consider how you normally view and interact with time. Now, be honest: Are you habitually late? Are you always early (because you were taught that “on-time” is actually late)? Are you obsessed with watching the seconds of an analog clock tick over to the final minute as you are cooking your frozen pizza for exactly 12 minutes because that’s how you get the crust exactly the way you want it? When someone says, let’s meet at 4:00pm on Thursday, do you say “Perfect!” only to realize later that you actually leave for a 2 week vacation you’ve had on the calendar for MONTHS the Wednesday before the proposed meeting?
Identifying your relationship with time is just that – identifying. You don’t have to worry about judging your relationship. (Trust me, others have plenty of energy for judging themselves and everyone around them. But they are not successful in their endeavors, like you are.) When you step back and honestly review your previous relationship with time & schedules, you can then decide how to make that relationship work best for you and your business.
OR you can find someone who has a different relationship with time that can compliment yours. A support system, if you will.
